Ashtanga & Mysore is a system developed and taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the southern Indian city of Mysore. A set sequences of poses, Ashtanga Vinyasa practice emphasises tristhana, the three places of attention or action: asana, ujjayi breath and dristhi, which correspond to three levels of purification of body, nervous system and mind. Ashtanga classes guide students through the Primary Series of asanas, simultaneously developing attention to pace, breathing and finer details of the practice.

Dharma Mittra is challenging vinyasa series created by New York-based Sri Dharma Mittra designed to reintegrate the flow of prana through the spinal column and to emanate deep into all areas of the physical, metabolic, intuitive, and bliss bodies. The series promotes harmony within all these layers so a concentrated state of radiant health is achieved. These Shiva Namaskara Vinyasa series have been embraced by Yogis from all styles for the unique integration of the classical spirit of true Yoga in a completely thorough mobilisation of the corporeal body. It brings contentment, merging the complete identity with the true self, the goal of Yoga.

Dynamic Vinyasa involves the linking of body movement with breath in a creative and inventive fashion designed by each teacher. The student learns sequences of breath-synchronized movements which are used to transition between sustained postures and choreographed transitions  between hatha yoga asanas, which not only cleanse, heal and strengthen the physical body but also raise the consciousness of the practitioner toward enlightenment.

Flow Vinyasa Flow classes are taught at a slightly slower pace than Dynamic classes to help develop precise alignment, and students are encouraged to synchronise the breath and movements while flowing dynamically yet graciously throughout a series of poses. Poses come from the traditions of Hatha Yoga as well as modern forms of yoga that target and explore particular movements required for proper alignment and strength. Flow classes help to develop strength, flexibility, balance, precision, stamina, coordination, and grace. Each class is carefully sequenced to target a specific area of the physical, emotional, psychic or energetic body.

Gong is a meditation on sound which aims to improve mental awareness, sharpen concentration, break through negative patterns of behaviour and gives us a direct experience of consciousness through the sounds and vibrations of the gongs.

Hatha Yoga incorporates a slow flowing and restorative sequence of asanas, pranayama, meditation and deep relaxation designed to align your skin, muscles and bones.
This ancient discipline, which has been practiced for thousands of years, is not only hugely beneficial for fitness and vitality, improving flexibility and strength. The tools and techniques mastered through the practice give you mental clarity, focus and self awareness.

Shamanic Healing Shamans believe that everything we experience is the manifestation of energetic imbalances at the level of the spirit, the deepest level of our Selves.  During the shamanic healing class we will do some guided meditation and experience Shamanic Journeying with the help of drumming, which is intended to get us into an altered state of awareness. The aim of the Shamanic Journey is to meet Spirit guides and Power Animals who can bring us healing, guidance and empowerment. The Shamanic Healing class is a Sacred Space where you can come every week and receive healing, connect with your guides and receive advice and guidance about any area of your life that you may be having difficulty with. Come with an open mind and leave your expectations at the door (You can have them back after class!).

Kundalini Yoga was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1969 and is a safe, comprehensive technology that can be practiced by everyone. This ancient art and science enables the expansion of consciousness, and facilitates the awakening and rising of Kundalini energy through the body. Kundalini Yoga is taught in set ‘kriyas’ which are series of dynamic and static exercises, using asanas (postures), mudras (gestures), pranayama (breath), bandha (body locks) and mantras (chanted words).  Kundalini Yoga sets and meditations use visualization, projection, focus and attention to attain specific therapeutic effects in the physical, emotional or mental body. Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga, practitioners unite individual consciousness with Cosmic Consciousness on a regular basis by carefully performing the exercises and meditations in specific sequence and combination. Students become adept at perceiving the movement of energy within and outside the body, consciously direct its flow to stimulate and awaken the chakras, for self and world healing.

Masters & Angels In this class we shall explore the world of Ascended Masters and Angels. It is a ‘down to earth’, practical look at healing with these energetic beings and how they fit into our daily lives. We shall also look at how human needs such as love, prosperity, health, joy etc. can be supported by healing with light beings. Anyone is welcome to this class; we start with an introduction before beginning with the healing which is normally received while lying down comfortably.

Mysore style practice is a particular way of teaching yoga within the Ashtanga Yoga tradition. Taught during early mornings on weekdays, each student is given their yoga routine according to their ability. Students are taught the series of asanas by the teacher then practice their own portion of the Ashtanga sequence at their own pace. All instruction is one-on-one within a group class setting, and each student is assisted individually. Students can arrive at or after 6.30am, and practice should last from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the individual’s ability and stamina.

Oasis of Sound Relax and bathe in the exquisite sounds of Tibetan Bowl, Hang, Shamanic Drum, Rainstick and vocal toning. Allow these sacred sounds to balance and retune your body on a cellular and soulful level. Sing your heart full of Mantras and Chants.

Restorative A gentle yoga class of sustained and supported postures and meditation practice. Prolonged postures allow changes to muscle tissue and fascia affecting deeper levels of the body and movement patterns. Restorative yoga creates calm in the sympathetic nervous system (the fight, flight or freeze responses) and connection to the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest responses) which allows the body to deeply and completely unwind. In an unaggressive, soft and supported way, restorative yoga can create subtle or deep changes to the physical body and our way of operating in the world.

Scaravelli  A mindful and meditative practice developed by Vanda Scaravelli , a long term student of BKS Iyengar and
Sri T Krishnamacharya. The softness and grace of this healing practice releases the weight of your body towards the earth, lengthening and awakening your spine, enabling the earth’s energy to move throughout your body freely and creating an effortless breath. What develops is a natural “wave-like movement” in your spine, as the mind becomes focused and your body free of tension. Scaravelli yoga emphasizes greater understanding of how to allow your body to open, soften, unfold, connect to gravity and ‘just be’ allowing the asana to devlop as expressions of the body’s movement rather than end goals in and of themselves.

Yin Yoga sequences used in Yin Yoga are designed to balance the nervous system by focusing on the connective tissue in the spine and hips, which are often the seat of a lot of emotional and physical energies. Students learn to release tension, how to stay with uncomfortable sensations in a safe setting, while also learning how to create joy and experience release and contentment. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga access and opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports an emotional equilibrium. As the practice emphasises stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both body and mind for deeper experiences in meditation.
